For parents

We place a lot of importance on the communication and partnership with parents and keep in regular contact with home, both formally and informally.

Communication takes the form of:

A Termly Curriculum Overview which is made available to parents at the start of each term. This helps parents to understand what is expected of their children and to support their learning at home. These are available on each of the respective class blogs (see below).

A class blog is updated regularly, detailing the learning covered in class that week and providing extra information, key dates, photographs, etc. These blogs also have static pages personal to each individual class, providing additional resources to support learning, online copies of homework menus for each term, and the Termly Curriculum Overviews as detailed above.

A Whole School Newsletter is sent out by the Head of School or Advisory head every two weeks. These outline the learning which has taken place across the school, celebrating individual and whole-class achievement, reminding adults of key dates, and generally keeping parents 'in the loop'.

The school will also sometimes send texts and emails to informs parents of anything from emergency school closures to giving reminders about events and assemblies.
*Please note that wherever possible, we will send letters out by email to lesson our impact on the environment.* This also helps to reduce the number of letters which get 'lost' in the depths of book-bags!

Parent consultation evenings take place in the Autumn and Spring Terms. We will inform you of the specific dates and times when known.

An end of year report is written by the Class Teacher and sent to parents in July to summarise the year's learning.

Members of staff are always available on the gate, at the beginning and end of every school day (8.30am and 3.00 pm). Please do not hesitate to speak to someone who will be happy to help arrange an appointment to meet with your child's class teacher.
